Body art rocks

The stunning star of our M5 motorway campaign is the model Verity Millet, who has been painted by body artist and Rocker Mona Turnbull.

We first came across Mona when she was one of the body artists at the brilliant Art Couture Painswick, where talented designers and artists either create wearable art or body art. It’s an amazing weekend in the beautiful churchyard in Painswick.

When we hosted our Creativity Rocks the Cotswolds event at the Wilson Gallery and Art Museum in Cheltenham, we wanted to showcase some of the creative elements of the Cotswolds, so with the help and support of our friends at Art Couture Painswick, we invited Mona to come and showcase her talents to a new audience.

Her body art totally blew everyone away and in fact ended up inspiring part of the live painting that Swarez did that evening.

We also then had another event at the Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival and we thought that Mona could create a bit of a wow factor – she did some more incredible body art on Verity and they stole the show with some great photos coming from that event.

And then we got the lucky news that we were to have a billboard on the M5. We knew straight away that an image of Mona and Verity’s body art would be the natural image – it was very different, bright, colourful, curious and would create a buzz. And it certainly has.

We love connecting people locally and some fascinating and successful collaborations have happened as a result of Rock the Cotswolds. And this is a great example of two not-for-profit organisations – Art Couture Painswick and Rock the Cotswolds – introducing new talent to shake things up a bit and showcase the really creative side of the Cotswolds.
