Blood bikers are lifesavers. These kings of the open road give up their evenings and weekends riding for lives. These motorbike heroes transport blood, pathology specimens, patient notes, X-rays, even breast milk from hospital to hospital, helping save lives. In 2012 they made 3,648 deliveries, riding more than 120,000 miles on a fleet of motorcycles with high-visibility markings, blue lights and sirens, riding so much they’ve stopped counting.
