North Leigh Roman Villa

Here lies the remains of a vast Roman courtyard villa with a fabulous feature of an almost complete mosaic tile floor. This was a ‘courtyard villa’, and significant finds of pre-Roman Iron Age pottery and other features beneath the former south-west range show exciting evidence of earlier occupation.
