Former Channel 5 News Anchors Cleveland

Remember Cleveland's News Anchors? Let's Catch Up!

Ever found yourself flipping through channels and landed on Cleveland's old news broadcasts? You might've seen a familiar face or two - former Channel 5 News anchors! You know, the ones who used to keep us up-to-date with that warm, friendly smile? Let's take a chill pill and dive into their world, shall we?

Who Were They, Again?

Well, let's start with the OG, Tim White. He was like the grandpa of Cleveland news, anchoring from the '70s to the '90s. Then there's Dennis Kucinich, who you might know from his political career, but he started as a news anchor in the '70s too. And who could forget Romona Robinson? She was the first African American woman to anchor a weekday news show in Cleveland, breaking barriers since the '80s.

What Made Them Special?

Picture this: it's 6 PM, you're home from work, and you've got your favorite dinner on the table. Suddenly, Tim White's voice fills your living room, "Good evening, I'm Tim White." It's like having a friend drop by, isn't it? That's what made these anchors special. They were more than just newsreaders; they were part of our evening routine, our community.

Remember when Dennis Kucinich would share his 'On Your Side' segments? It was like having a consumer advocate as your best buddy, fighting for your rights. And Romona Robinson? She brought a warmth and authenticity to the screen that made us feel seen and heard. It's like they were the cool aunt and uncle we all wanted.
