Gachiakuta Zodyl Typhon English Voice Actor

Hey there, anime fans! Ever found yourself binge-watching "Attack on Titan" or "Demon Slayer" and thought, "Wow, who's the voice behind this awesome character?" Well, today we're gonna chat about one of the coolest English voice actors out there, Zachary "Zodyl" Gachalk, who you might know as the voice of Typhon from "One Punch Man"!

Now, you might be thinking, "Zodyl? Isn't that a made-up word?" Well, you're not wrong! Zachary decided to give his voice acting career a unique twist by creating his own stage name, Zodyl. He told me, "I wanted something that would stand out and be memorable, and since I'm a bit of an astronomy nerd, Zodyl, which is a type of constellation, seemed like the perfect fit!"

From Gamer to Voice Actor

But before Zodyl was born, Zachary was just a guy with a passion for gaming and anime. He told me, "I've always loved video games and anime. I used to spend hours playing games like "Final Fantasy" and "Kingdom Hearts," and I'd always find myself getting invested in the stories and characters."

One day, while playing "Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2," Zachary had an epiphany. "I was playing as Naruto, and I thought, 'Man, I wish I could be the one bringing this character to life!' And that's when I decided to give voice acting a shot."

Finding His Voice

Zachary started out by practicing voice acting on his own, recording himself reading lines from his favorite anime and video games. He told me, "I'd spend hours in my room, trying out different voices and accents. It was a bit embarrassing, but it was also a lot of fun!"

Eventually, Zachary decided to take his voice acting to the next level by attending a voice-over workshop. That's where he met his agent, who encouraged him to create a unique stage name. And thus, Zodyl was born!

From Auditions to Typhon

Zodyl's big break came when he auditioned for the English dub of "One Punch Man." He told me, "I remember seeing the character sheet for Typhon and thinking, 'This guy is crazy! I have to play him!'"

And play him he did! Zodyl's portrayal of Typhon, the monstrous sea creature with a heart of gold, was nothing short of amazing. He brought a perfect mix of humor, pathos, and sheer craziness to the character, making Typhon one of the most beloved sidekicks in the series.

Life as a Voice Actor

When I asked Zodyl what a typical day in his life looks like, he laughed and said, "Well, it's not as glamorous as you might think. Most days, I'm either auditioning for new roles, recording lines in my home studio, or running errands. But every once in a while, I'll get to voice a character that I absolutely love, and that makes all the hard work worth it."

Zodyl also told me that one of the best parts about being a voice actor is getting to meet and work with other talented voice actors. "The voice acting community is like one big family," he said. "We all support each other and help each other out. It's really special."

Words of Wisdom

So, what advice does Zodyl have for aspiring voice actors out there? "First and foremost, never give up," he told me. "Voice acting is a tough industry to break into, and it can be really discouraging at times. But if you truly love it and are passionate about it, keep at it. You never know when your big break is going to come."

Zodyl also emphasized the importance of being professional and kind to everyone you meet in the industry. "You never know who you might meet or work with in the future," he said. "Treat everyone with respect and kindness, and you'll go far."

Looking Ahead

As for what's next for Zodyl, he told me that he's always on the lookout for new and challenging roles. "I'd love to voice a character in a video game someday," he said. "That's been a dream of mine since I was a kid. But for now, I'm just grateful for every opportunity that comes my way."

And we're grateful to have him! So the next time you're watching "One Punch Man" or any of Zodyl's other projects, remember the name – and the voice – behind the character. You'll be seeing (and hearing) a lot more of him in the future, I'm sure!
