How Much Does Savannah Bananas Players Make

Picture this: You're at the ballpark, the sun's setting, and the Savannah Bananas are on the field. The crowd's cheering, the popcorn's popping, and you're wondering, "How much do these guys make for bringing all this joy?" Let's dive in, shall we?

So, What's the Deal with Banana Money?

First things first, the Savannah Bananas are part of the Coastal Plain League, a summer collegiate baseball league. It's like the minor leagues, but for college players looking to hone their skills during the off-season. Now, you might be thinking, "College kids? Like my neighbor's kid who mows my lawn?" Well, yeah, sort of!

These aren't your average college kids, though. They're serious ballplayers, aiming to make it big. So, let's talk money. Or should I say, lack thereof?

Minimum Wage Champions

Here's the thing: Savannah Bananas players don't rake in the big bucks. In fact, they're paid a minimum wage of $10 per game. That's right, folks. For every home run they hit, every strikeout they throw, they're making a cool $10.

Now, let's put that into perspective. If you're a Banana fan, you might've seen some incredible plays this season. Imagine your favorite player hitting a grand slam, and you're thinking, "Wow, that's worth a fortune!" Nope. It's worth $10.

But here's where it gets interesting. The Coastal Plain League has a maximum salary too. Players can't make more than $900 for the entire summer. That's right, even if they're playing every game, they can't make more than $900.

So, if you're doing the math, that's about $25 per game at the most. Not bad for a summer job, but not exactly the big leagues, right?
