How Old Is Alec From The Shriners Commercial

Age is Just a Number: Unraveling Alec from the Shriners Commercial

Ever found yourself humming the catchy tune of "Alec, Alec, Alec" while watching TV? You're not alone. The Shriners Hospitals for Children commercial featuring Alec has become a cultural phenomenon, and we're here to spill the beans on the man behind the smile.

First things first, let's address the elephant in the room. No, Alec is not a child. He's a grown man, and a pretty charming one at that. But how old is he, you ask? Well, that's where things get a little tricky. Alec's age is a well-guarded secret, much like the recipe for Coca-Cola or the ending of "The Sixth Sense".

Now, you might be thinking, "How can they keep his age a secret in this digital age?" Well, it's all about the power of storytelling and a little bit of misdirection. The commercials have been running since the 1960s, with Alec's appearance and mannerisms remaining virtually unchanged. It's like they've found the fountain of youth, or perhaps they've just mastered the art of good lighting and hair products.

Meet the Man Behind the Smile

So, who is Alec, really? His full name is Alec Mapa, and he's a Filipino-American actor and comedian. You might recognize him from his roles in shows like "Ugly Betty" or "Half & Half". He's also a talented voice actor, lending his voice to characters in animated shows like "The Powerpuff Girls" and "SpongeBob SquarePants".

But back to Alec's age. Despite the commercial's best efforts to keep us guessing, Alec has let a few clues slip over the years. In a 2013 interview with the Huffington Post, he revealed that he was born in 1969. That makes him... wait for it... 53 years old as of 2022! I know, I know, it's hard to believe. He must be using some sort of ancient, mystical skincare routine.
