First things first, let's set the scene. It's Christmas time, and the McCallister family is in a bit of a pickle. They've accidentally left Kevin behind during their family vacation. Oops!

Now, you might be thinking, "How old is this poor kid who's been left to fend for himself?" Well, let's break it down.

Home Alone (1990)

In the original film, Kevin is a nine-year-old kid from Chicago. He's got a wild imagination, a knack for inventing creative (and sometimes dangerous) traps, and a whole lot of courage.

But here's where it gets interesting. The actor who played Kevin, Macaulay Culkin, was actually 10 years old when the movie was released. Can you believe it? He looked so tiny on screen, but he was already a tween in real life!

Fun fact: Macaulay was born on August 26, 1980. So, when Home Alone hit theaters in November 1990, he was celebrating his 10th birthday just a couple of months earlier.
