What Are The Names Of The Mice On Cinderella

Hey there, let's talk about something that's been tickling my curiosity - the mice in Cinderella! You know, the ones who aren't exactly the fairy godmother's best helpers, but they sure do steal the show. So, what are their names? Let's dive in!

Meet Jaq and Gus

Alright, so you might be thinking, "Wait a minute, I've seen the movie a hundred times, and I don't remember any names!" Well, buckle up, because here's where things get interesting. In the 1950 animated classic, our little heroes don't have names. Can you believe it? They're just 'Mouse 1' and 'Mouse 2' in the script. But fear not, Disney fans, because the 2015 live-action remake gave them a proper introduction.

In 'Cinderella' (2015), we meet Jaq and Gus, two charming little mice with big personalities. Jaq, the more adventurous of the two, is voiced by the talented Barry Humphries. Gus, the slightly more timid one, is brought to life by the hilarious Rob Brydon. Quite the duo, huh?

Now, you might be wondering, "Why the name change?" Well, it turns out that Jaq and Gus were actually the names of the mice in the original story by Charles Perrault. So, the 2015 remake was just giving a nod to the classics. Pretty neat, right?

But Wait, There's More!

You might be thinking, "Okay, so Jaq and Gus are the main mice, but what about their pals?" Well, let me tell you, the mice of Cinderella are a whole colony of cuteness! In the 1950 film, there are around 200 mice in total. That's a whole lot of squeaks and scampers!

Now, I know what you're thinking, "How do they keep track of all those mice?" Well, the animators had a clever system. Each mouse had a number painted on its back, so they could keep track of them during the animation process. Talk about attention to detail!

From Mice to Men (Well, Almost)

You know, the mice in Cinderella aren't just there for comedic relief. They're Cinderella's friends, her confidants, her family. They help her, support her, and even stand up to Lady Tremaine. I mean, who needs a prince when you've got an army of mice on your side?

So, the next time you watch Cinderella, whether it's the classic animation or the live-action remake, take a moment to appreciate Jaq and Gus, and all their little friends. They might be small, but they've got big hearts, and that's what makes them truly magical.

And They All Lived Happily Ever After...

And that, my friend, is the tale of Jaq and Gus, the mice who stole our hearts. So, the next time you see a mouse, remember, it could be a future prince or princess of a tale. After all, in the world of Cinderella, anything is possible. And isn't that a wonderful thing to remember?

Until next time, keep your eyes peeled for those little heroes, and remember, no matter how small, you can make a big difference. And that's not just a fairy tale.
