What Is The Payout For The Bmw Championship

Hey there, golf enthusiast! You've probably heard about the BMW Championship, but you might be wondering, "What's in it for the winners, besides bragging rights and a shiny trophy?" Well, buckle up, 'cause we're about to dive into the sweet, green goodness of the prize pool!

Let's Talk Money, Honey

The BMW Championship is part of the FedExCup Playoffs, which means the prize money is big. Like, "I could buy a small island" big. In 2021, the total prize purse was a cool $9.5 million. That's right, folks, we're talking serious cheddar here.

Now, you might be thinking, "That's all well and good, but how does that money get divvied up?" Great question! The winner takes home the lion's share, which in 2021 was a whopping $1.71 million. That's enough to make anyone do a happy dance!

But Wait, There's More!

Winning the BMW Championship isn't just about the cash. The champion also gets a shiny, new BMW (hence the name of the tournament), a three-year exemption on the PGA Tour, and an invitation to the following year's Masters Tournament, PGA Championship, and The Players Championship. Not too shabby, huh?

And what about the rest of the field? Well, they don't go home empty-handed either. In 2021, the last place finisher still took home a cool $36,500. That's not a bad day's work, even if you didn't quite bring home the bacon.

That's right, folks, we're talking about a serious payday!
