Alright, so you're here because you're curious about when this '80s-inspired, monster-lovin', Eggo-worshipin' phenomenon first graced our TVs, right? Well, buckle up, 'cause we're about to take a trip down memory lane.

Now, you might be thinking, "Wasn't it, like, yesterday that Eleven was first serving up waffles and kicking Demogorgon butt?" But hold onto your alphabet wall, because it's been a bit longer than you might think.

But why the wait, you ask?

You see, the Duffer Brothers, those masterminds behind our favorite '80s throwback, had a bit of a journey getting their baby to our screens. The first season was originally pitched as a feature film, not a series. And it took a couple of years and a few rejections before Netflix finally said, "Yep, we're in!"

But once they were in, they were all in. Netflix ordered two seasons at once, which is like ordering two giant pizzas when you're really hungry. Smart move, Netflix. Smart move.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Stranger Things Season 1 dropped, and the world went crazy. We were all suddenly obsessed with alphabet walls, Christmas lights, and the haunting tune of the show's theme song. It was a global phenomenon, and we were all hooked.
